Social Media Marketing Specialist- Events
Help promote Harvard Alumni in Tech events from start to finish by creating and scheduling engaging social media content before, during, and after each event. This project is ideal for a volunteer who enjoys event marketing, storytelling, and turning event recordings into reusable content.
For this specific New York event, the volunteer will support the full social media promotion cycle, including:
- Develop a social media content plan and posting schedule for before, during, and after the event.
- Write engaging LinkedIn posts that align with Harvard Alumni in Tech’s brand, audience, and event goals.
- Create promotional posts announcing the event, speakers, panelists, partners, and key discussion topics.
- Develop a LinkedIn tagging strategy for speakers, panelists, sponsors, partners, volunteers, and relevant organizations to increase visibility and engagement.
- Coordinate with featured individuals to confirm their correct LinkedIn profiles and company pages.
- Create supporting content, such as speaker spotlights, quotes, polls, discussion questions, countdown posts, and attendee-engagement posts.
- Prepare suggested social copy that speakers, partners, and Harvard Alumni in Tech leaders can share with their own networks.
- Create or coordinate social media graphics and ensure that each post includes the correct links, tags, event details, and calls to action.
- Monitor engagement and respond to or flag relevant comments and questions.
- Capture or coordinate real-time event content, when possible.
- Create post-event recap and thank-you posts.
- Repurpose event photos, videos, audio, quotes, and key takeaways into at least six additional pieces of content that can be shared throughout the year. Review post performance and provide a brief summary of results, insights, and recommendations for future events
